Here is a link from the official website about the course:

Much to learn from it except from what is mentioned on the website. I would recommend it for everyone.
Also a link from 43things.com related to Vipassana

Sailesh, the link to the official website (http://www.dhamma.org/en/code.shtml) is more informative than what I can share with you.
Nevertheless, i would recommend it to everyone and also suggest that you go there without any expectations (like me) and you will cherish this experience forever.

i agree.Vipassana is amazing.Had such a feeling as if i got cleansed thoroughly internally.Life changed in those ten serene days.
Sagarika, you are right; Life changes in those ten serene days and even after.
But I have rarely met anyone who continues with it… offcouse there would have been many who do; but not in my acquaintances.
Have you continued with it; if yes how?
I know its difficult to continue but ya many i know have continued.Ihave been doing meditation though not very regularly and planning to go again this month, if possible. With Vipassana,i felt as if i finally got the path to self that i was seeking for all these years in so many things. Were there no materialistic committments,i would have surrendered myself to vipassana forever.
Sagarika,
Good to know that to you are still on the path… Yes, you are right it would have been totally different if there were no ‘materialistic commitments’ :) Best wishes…

can relate with sagrika completely .i have been doing meditaion (Mainly osho & TM by mahershi mahesg yogi) for the last one and half years but Vipasna hits at the root of the problem.Mine 10 days were tough after the 3rd day may be since i am anxiety prone but started feeing bliss after the 8th day and felt clear and reaxed .
Great experiance

Amit same here. Actually for me the 6th day was crucial - after which I decided to give it a fair try and succeeded. Although, I haven’t attended TM Mahershi’s or Osho; I intend to checkout Osho once atleast.
Cheers,
Be Happy :)
My nephew has a problem of Asthama from childhood ,residing at Chemnnai
so please advise me if that is cureable at VIPASSANA, because some- one
has told me. And kindly let me know the other treatments you are having
My brother-in-law & Sister having the problem of Back pain. So pplease advise
Subodh,
If you really ask me then I would say ‘NO’. Vipassana can cleanse your mind and soul and so it could probably affect positively for ailments related to them. But as you know miracles happen (no pun intended) and people may experience unexpected positive outcomes but its certainly something I wouldn’t advice. Also, if you read through more about Vipassana then its pretty evident that even they don’t want you to attend the course expecting any such thing.
I m commimg to attend 10 days course (for the first time) to dharmashala and very much excited to attend, i m dreaming that what i want to from my childhood i m going to get
Dr. Tripathi, I am sure you would enjoy it. Be happy :)
Hi Akshay,
I have just enrolled for a 10 day course of vipassana. This is the 1st time in life that I am going to try such a thing, though I have been contemplating the same for a long time. Justed wanted to know the experience of those who have attended it.
Thanks…
Someone advice me to joint vipassana ten days meditation course to come out from my depression which came because of loneliness, always confusedness & less confidences in myself. I would like to ask is that it will really help in this condition. it is true that I should believe were I am going but as usual I am confused and not able to take decision
Rupali, here are two questions and their answers from the Vipassana website which I think you should find useful:
Can Vipassana cure physical or mental diseases?
Many diseases are caused by our inner agitation. If the agitation is removed, the disease may be alleviated or disappear. But learning Vipassana with the aim of curing a disease is a mistake that never works. People who try to do this waste their time because they are focusing on the wrong goal. They may even harm themselves. They will neither understand the meditation properly nor succeed in getting rid of the disease.
How about depression? Does Vipassana cure that?
Again, the purpose of Vipassana is not to cure diseases. Someone who really practices Vipassana learns to be happy and balanced in all circumstances. But a person with a history of severe depression may not be able to apply the technique properly and may not get the desired results. The best thing for such a person is to work with a health professional. Vipassana teachers are meditation experts, not psychotherapists.
