If you look back in history and read the lives of the greatest of warriors who inspire generations after generations; you read how unanimously they won their battles, how they earned respect from the enemies they fought and how valiantly they fought their last battle. For once the result doesn’t matter. Today, I feel the same for Mumbai Indians. You made us proud, you won my heart. – Akky
Surprising! Back in the year 2001 Google had no clue of Facebook, TechCrunch, Michael Arrington and the likes (source). But it still knew me back in 2001.
Feels great :) Thanks Google!
I never noticed this in Skype..
Yes, I have once again cut down my RSS intake. It’s just a little above 150 now. Feels lighter :)
Update: Looks like its a cleanup day. I read a series of left over posts today and finally few minutes back just pressed “All Items” and then “Mark all as read”. Feels much better now. Why didn’t I ever think of this before (?)
P.S. Leave me a link to your personal blog below. I would love to keep pace with it ;)
Upgraded to WordPress 2.3.2 and changed the theme to plaintxtblog from plaintxt.org.
I have also added a Photos section.
I hope the migration has been successful and permalinks are working fine. Do let me know if you notice any issues. Also tell me how do you find the new theme?
Below is a snippet of conversation between Me and Myself:
Me: Is the Internet connection down? Myself: One second. Let me Google. Presses ‘⌘+Option+F‘, types a search query (usually ‘Akshay Surve’) and hits ‘Return’ Myself: Oops. Yes it is! (3 seconds) Me: The Internet modem seems alright. Must be a service provider issue. Myself: May be. Myself, checks up some random link or bookmark (eg:yahoo.com). If it loads in the first attempt, presses ‘⌘+R‘ multiple times to make sure that it’s not loaded from the cache. He tries searching on Google once again but still the Google search results pages doesn’t load. Myself: Hey, Yahoo.com did load. Me:(Concludes) Yahoo.com site is working, Internet is down! :p

Chintu would stammer regularly and so he would keep quiet most of the time. Once while answering his teachers question everyone started laughing on him. Few students were making fun of his stammering, some were bored of the lecture and others didn’t want to be left out and effectively everyone was laughing on him. Chintu decided that he will never answer the teachers questions ever again.
Moral of the story: Laughter is the best medicine, only for oneself.
Jack and Jill went up the hill To fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown, And Jill came tumbling after.
Moral of the story: Sometimes even God plays pranks.

For the last couple of months we have been experiencing momentary intermittent power failures/fluctuations. Now it surely doesn’t affect the Saas-bahu soap operas but has surely made my life tougher. It has rendered one of my RAM chips useless and because of which I had to install a new one. Remember the podcast interview I did with Freeman Murray at BarCampPune3 is in post-production now. Some of the files have been corrupted and I would have to start the whole thing again. Extremely sorry for the delay. So, now its time to get a UPS for my home computer and save the trouble. I must thank Firefox as its ‘restore session’ feature comes in handy during such restarts. Signing off…
Though my blog has been somewhat dormant, do keep a close watch on my flickr stream to not miss any of the action.

I am no pro-user of Adobe Photoshop but over the years I must have helped 300+ users to help start using it.
Everyday with Postgresql is FuN. Everyday there is something new to learn. Everyday you are awed by its feature set. Everyday you think of MySQL and wonder Oh, if only all things were as simple.
Very useful how-to for a newbie or someone from a mysql background

Yup, Prayas you are right ! Two months of mostly nothing even for me.
I wanted a place to quickly post thoughts and just about anything I wanted to, without providing a commentary. Yup, this is my very own tumblelog. Expect me to post frequently in this stream.
Not heard of a tumblelog…
A tumblelog is a quick and dirty stream of consciousness, a bit like a remaindered links style linklog but with more than just links
